Helen Walton 97, of New Philadelphia, died Friday July 15, 2005 at Park Village Healthcare Center in Dover.Born September 20, 1909 in Mercer County Pennsylvania., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ella (Winger) Alexander.Helen was married to Thomas Walton on September 4, 1937.She was a longtime member of the Eagles women’s auxiliary chapter 2251 of New Philadelphia. She served as the organizations president, secretary, Chaplin, conductor and for 36 years as its treasurer.Helen was proud of the fact that she was able to prepare holiday meals for her family up until the time of her illness. She was also an avid gardener spending much of her time tending to the gardens around her home.She will be remembered by her family as a kind and generous person.She is survived by two nephews, James Gintz and Robert Gintz both of New Philadelphia; one niece, Carol (Larry) Kaelin of Stone Creek; and many great nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by three nephews Gerald Gintz, Glen Marshall and Richard Marshall; and two sisters, Mabel Peters and Esther Parker.Graveside Services will be Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at 3 p.m. at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia with the Rev. Jim Borton officiating.
