An all-giving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Helen V. Lute, has gone home to walk the streets of gold. Helen passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at her home following a sudden illness.
Born April 12, 1932, in Dover, Helen was the daughter of the late Oscar and Murial (Kunkle) Kohler.
Helen married her lifelong companion and friend, the late Robert E. Lute on September 4, 1949, who preceded her in passing on December 29, 2004.
Helen greatly enjoyed flea marketing, wood crafting, and fishing at area lakes. She also had a love for spending time around the campfire making hobo pies and enjoying the company of her dog, Joey. Much of her time was devoted to being with her family.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Glenna M. Miller; sons, William R. Lute, Robert E. Lute, Jr., Harmon A. Lute, Vernon E. (Myra) Lute; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her granddaughters, Betsy Lynn Lute and Virginia Lute; her son-in-law, Delmer Dean Miller; and numerous siblings.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating her life will be held Wednesday in the funeral home’s chapel beginning at 3:30 pm with Pastor Max Canfield officiating. Following the service, friends are invited to a reception in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home. Cremation will be cared for through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover and a private burial will follow at a later date.
