Helen Marie Paulus

Helen Marie Carlson Paulus, age 85, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, May 6, 2006 in her home. Born at North Hampton, New Hampshire January 29, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Edith Marie (Johnson) Carlson who were immigrants from Sweden.A member of Schoenbrunn Community Moravian Church for more than fifty years, Mrs. Paulus was also a member of the New Philadelphia Order of Eastern Star having received her fifty-year pin last year. On March 30, 1946, Helen married Dale Elwood Paulus. The couple had met while Dale was with the United States Army, stationed in New Hampshire during World War II. The couple returned to Tuscarawas County, where dale was reared, and settled at New Philadelphia. They observed their fifty-second wedding anniversary prior to his death July 14, 1998. Her family includes her daughter, Linda Marie and her husband Rick Deramo of Havertown, Pennsylvania, three grandchildren; Lisa Marie and her husband Tom Horvat of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Sarah Deramo and Fred Deramo, both of Havertown, an infant great-granddaughter, Lindsay Marie Horvat of Allentown, as well as a special brother-in-law, Max E. and wife Jane Paulus of North Canton, who have provided exceptional care for Helen since her husband’s death.In addition to her parents and husband, three brothers; Arthur, Herbert and Ernest Carlson, precede Helen in death. Friends are invited to call Tuesday afternoon from 4PM Â? 7PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Eastern Star services will commence Tuesday evening at 6:45. Pastor Sue Koenig will lead the Paulus funeral Wednesday morning at 11AM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service a reception will be provided by the ladies of Schoenbrunn Community Moravian Church in their fellowship hall.
