Helen M. Zurcher

Helen M. Zurcher, 64, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 16, 2009 in Union Hospital at Dover.A daughter of Ella Deloris (Stocksdale) Stover and the late Dale E. Zeigler, Helen was born March 22, 1944 at Dover, Ohio.Helen was a 1963 graduate of Midvale High School and worked as a waitress at the former L & K Restaurant at New Philadelphia.She enjoyed solving word search puzzles and tending to the flowers and plants around her home. Helen was also an avid collector of Native American artifacts. She will be remembered by her family as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.She is survived by her mother, Ella Stover of New Philadelphia, her husband, Don Zurcher, whom she married on October 7, 1980; two daughters, Billie Jo (Joe) Sutler of Uhrichsville and Bobbie Jo Parson of Canton; six grandchildren, Nichole Parson, Tiffany and Cassidy Rowe, Michael Myers and Jennifer and Nicholas Barcus; a great grandson, Xzavier VanMeter as well as other great grandchildren and two brothers, Dale J. (Joyce) Zeigler of New Philadelphia and Smoke (Dixie) Stover of Baltic.Helen was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Violet Stover and a brother, Robert Zeigler.Friends may call on Thursday, February 19, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Helen’s life will be held on Friday, February 20, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Hugh Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.Memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s honor to a charity of one’s choice.
