Helen M Ogg

Helen M. Ogg, 87, of Walnut Creek and formerly of Strasburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Monday evening, July 28, 2014 following a period of declining health.

Born in her home in Starr, Ohio on October 6, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo Dow and Maggie Annamae (Nichols) Cottrill.

After completing her formal education at Union Furnace High School, she married her lifelong companion and friend, the late Robert Leroy Ogg on January 15, 1943. They enjoyed a loving and beautiful life together before his passing on May 13, 1989.

Helen’s faith was nurtured at Barrs Mill Church of God and Indian Meadows Church of God for numerous years.

Her loving family includes her daughters, Barbara (Wesly) Westfall of Sugarcreek, Sandra (Gene) Cunningham of Walnut Creek; her son, Kavin (Tammy) Ogg of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Teresa Westfall, Marty (Debby) Westfall, Scotty (Crystal) Westfall, Rhonda (Doug) Otto, Angela (Brian) Mauer, Tracy (Dean) Kaser, Shawna (Bobby) Smith, Robert (Tiffany) Green, Trish Ogg, Cory (Marissa) Winkler, and Mandy Ogg; 22 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and her special niece, Sally (Ronnie) Schooly of Columbus.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her son, Gary R. Ogg.

No public visitation or services will be held. Cremation will be cared for through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory and a private inurnment will be held at a later date.
