Helen J. “Tootie” Orlando, 88, of New Philadelphia went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2016.
Born in New Philadelphia on December 2, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Guido Orlando and Mary F. Fragasse Orlando Cipriano.
After graduating from New Philadelphia High School, Tootie worked for numerous families and facilities in the Apple Creek, Coshocton, and Millersburg communities as a home health aide.
Tootie was a very independent woman who enjoyed baking and gardening. She often was seen walking in the community and enjoyed giving generously to charitable organizations.
She leaves behind her sister, Shirley Colarossi and her family. She will be especially missed by cousins, Heidi, Marianne, and John; as well as numerous other cousins.
In addition to her parents Tootie was preceded in death by her beloved brother, John Orlando and sister, Joanne Cipriano.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home Tuesday from 12:30-1:15. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
