Helen Jean Clark, 70, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.
A daughter of Howard Clum and the late Ruth (Allensworth) Clum, Helen was born June 15, 1945 at Dover, Ohio.
She was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School. Helen was a longtime employee of General Telephone Company and later graduated from the Kent State University Nursing program. Following the completion of the nursing program, she enjoyed serving others and cared for many family members over the years.
She was a member of Life Way Church, formerly known as First Assembly of God Church, at New Philadelphia. Helen enjoyed riding motorcycles with her late husband, Larry, as well as vacationing with her children. She also enjoyed playing the organ in her younger years.
She is survived by her children, John W. (Lori) Bantum III of Strasburg, Elizabeth A. (Marvin) Eikleberry of Killbuck and Paul E. (Jen) Bantum of Dover; her grandchildren, Kaleigh (Terry) Jackson, Kristen (fiancé, Travis Metzger) and Dylan (fiancée, Naomi Benson) Bantum, Ian and Kaitlyn Yoder and Caden, Madi and Sophie Bantum; a sister, Janet (Troy) Brady of Las Vegas, Nevada; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her mother, her first husband, John W. Bantum Jr. and her second husband, Larry D. Clark.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 (TODAY) from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. in Dover Burial Park with Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating.
