Helen Catherine Krause, 73, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, April 18, 2008 in Aultman Hospital at Canton following a courageous battle with lung cancer.A daughter of the late Hugh and Wilma (Penrod) Lindsay, Helen was born May 21, 1934 at Dover, Ohio.Helen graduated from Dover High School in 1952 and two years later, she married the love of her life, Robert Krause. Together the couple raised two children, Kamie and Bobbi. Robert preceded Helen in death on March 28, 1977.She was an avid NASCAR fan whose favorite driver was Bill Elliot. Helen enjoyed quilting, talking on the telephone and she always looked forward to the monthly luncheons spent with her former high school classmates. Most of all, she cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their various functions.Helen is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Kamie and Tim Newell of East Sparta and Bobbi and Greg Stull of New Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Brian “B.W.” Stull and his fiancé, Christy Guess of New Philadelphia, Ryan Newell and his wife Shanna of Massillon and Amy Jo Newell and her friend Shaun Paul of Canton; an expected great grandchild due in June; a sister, Peggy (Cy) Class of Dover; a brother-in-law, Richard Dunlap of Dover and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, a sister, Doris Dunlap and a nephew, Mark Class.Family and friends may call on Monday, April 21, 2008 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A funeral service celebrating Helen’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center with Pastor Steven Woyen officiating. Burial will follow in Dover Burial Park at Dover. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the Hospitality Room of the Geib Funeral Center.Contributions may be made in Helen’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406.
