Heather Marie Jones, age 33, a beloved daughter, sister and friend was received into the arms of her Savior whom she loved so very much on Sunday, December 2, 2007 after an amazing journey battling cancer.Born at Canton, Ohio on June 12, 1974, Heather graduated from Heritage Christian High School. She attended Malone College and graduated from Youngstown State University where her vivacious energy lead her to earn dual degrees in Political Science and Psychology. In 2000, she received her Masters Degree in International Studies from American University in Washington D.C. Heather was a longtime and proud employee of the Limited Corporation, Victoria’s Secret Brand. She began her affiliation with Victoria’s Secret while a student at YSU working in the Boardman store. When in Washington D.C., she accepted the position of assistant manager, then store manager of their Victoria’s Secret Georgetown location. She advanced to the position of general manager of the Vistoria’s Secret flagship store at Columbus, Ohio. Most recently, she was promoted to district manager for the Baltimore, Maryland area. Heather regularly received the Platinum award for achieving corporate goals for her area of responsibility. In 2006, she was one of just four Limited associates to receive the coveted Leadership Award.In addition to her busy work schedule, Heather was an outstanding student, earning recognition as a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. Throughout her life, Heather has been a regular attendee of church. Although a member at New Cumberland United Methodist Church, Heather was also a familiar face at John Wesley United Methodist Church at Annapolis, Maryland, and the Winfield United Methodist Church at Winfield. Her strong faith in God kept her very focused in the closing days of her life, as she anticipated the place God prepared for her, she aided and comforted those in her family she would leave behind to be reunited with later. Heather is survived by her parents, Robert and Faith (Keener) Jones of New Philadelphia, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joshua and Erin Jones, also of New Philadelphia, Dr. and Mrs. Robert (Alana) Jones II of Dover, a nephew, Zachary Wade Jones, special caregiver and loving friend, Aaron Bueno of Annapolis, Maryland, cousins Carl and Shari Keener of Woodbine, Maryland, and hundreds of friends whose lives she touched whether through church, while a student, or as a corporate leader.Heather was preceded in death by a nephew, Ethan Shane Jones, her maternal grandparents, Lindsay and Orpha Shaw Keener and her paternal grandparents, the Reverend Robert and Lila Sutton Jones. The family will receive guests on Wednesday, December 5, 2007, from 1-4 and 6-9 in the Dover Geib Center, 5600 North Wooster Avenue, Dover. The Reverend LuAnn Youngman will lead a funeral celebrating Heather’s life Thursday morning, at 11 AM in the Winfield United Methodist Church. 5247 State Route 516 Dover Interment will follow in New Cumberland Cemetery. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall of Winfield United Methodist Church.
