Hazel M. Wallace, age 102, formerly of Tuscarawas, died peacefully, Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Wesley Ridge Retirement Center at Pickerington.
A daughter of the late Charles and Grace Shindler Minnich, Hazel was born at Tuscarawas on April 15, 1914.
She was a 1932 graduate of the former Tuscarawas-Warwick High School and Stafford Business College. For more than a decade, Hazel served as the Deputy Registrar of vehicle licenses for Tuscarawas. She was a life-long member of Sharon Moravian Church.
Hazel enjoyed traveling, camping in the Smoky Mountains, wintering in Harlingen, TX and above all else, spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Marie (John) Campbell of Pickerington, Evelyn (Tom) Dalcolma of Worthington; a son, Lloyd (Helen) Wallace of Morganton, NC; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Wallace; an infant daughter; a grandson, Brian Campbell, and two brothers, Robert “Bob” and Charles “Bud” Minnich.
A celebration of Hazel’s life will be led by Pastor Rebecca Sisley on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 3 PM in the Sharon Moravian Church. Burial in the Sharon Moravian Cemetery will follow. The family will greet guests immediately following services during a light reception in the church social hall.
