Hazel Pearl Bartholow

Hazel Bartholow, 73, died early Sunday morning, May 2, 2004, at Morningview Care Center in New Philadelphia.Hazel was born December 27, 1930, in Dennison, OH, to the now late Alvin and Goldie Murphy Owens.She was a housekeeper/nanny for several years, and later was employed at Union Hospital in Dover. She retired in l987, after 15 years of service there.Hazel is survived by her daughter, Susan Gleason of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Harvey Smart II of New Philadelphia, Christopher (Heather Foultz) Smart of Leesville; Randy (Kimberly Rugg) Smart of Newcomerstown; Amy (Samuel Jensen) Smart of Bolivar; and James Reynolds of New Philadelphia; three great-grandchildren, Leroy Rickey, Caden Jensen, and Rylee Sue Jensen; one sister, Maxine Locker of New Philadelphia; three brothers, Robert (Sandy) Owens of Dover, and Donald Owens and Randy (Tina) Owens, all of Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Rick Bartholow; and one sister, Myrtle Jean Bartholow.According to Hazel’s wishes, cremation will be under the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia.
