Hazel Oneida Alexander, 89, of Dover, died Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at County Club Retirement Center in Dover.Born May 22, 1917, in Riverside, Tennessee, Oneida was the youngest child of Edward and Ada Staggs Craig. She was a 1936 graduate of Dover High School and attended Canton Actual Business College.On August 19, 1939, she married Robert D. Alexander and in 1944 they started the Office Appliance Co. in Dover. Oneida was a co-owner with her husband until their retirement in 1977.She enjoyed her bridge club, many activities at First Christian Church, and more recently the friends and staff at Country Club. The family wishes to thank all of them for their care and support these last few years.Oneida was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Also her sisters, Clarice Defoe and Freda Sweany, and brothers, Paul, Conyar and Thomas Craig.She is survived by her daughter Judi (Gene) Baumgarner; granddaughter, Julie Anna, all of Eugene, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at 10:00 am at Evergreen Burial Park with Pastor Jim Borton officiating.
