Hazel Lillian Kinsey, 98, of Farragut, Tennessee and formerly of New Philadelphia, Ohio, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Summit View of Farragut.A daughter of the late Lorenzo and Eliza (March) DeWitt, Hazel was born August 31, 1909 at Newcomerstown, Ohio.A member of the United Brethren Church, Hazel was a survivor of the great depression era. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who was an excellent homemaker and cook.Hazel was a dedicated democrat and she enjoyed shopping and frequenting garage sales. She also enjoyed watching sporting events, especially basketball. The best times of her life however were spent with her children and grandchildren.She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (William) Masters of Knoxville, Tennessee and Sally (Marcus) Gaan of Phoenix, Arizona; a son, Larry (Linda) Kinsey of Sherrodsville, Ohio; grandchildren, Ann Kope, Joe Masters, Cathy Arabelo, Jeff Masters, Cynthia Leonard, Rebecca Gool, Melissa Nelson, Greg and Thome Hyde, Eric and Matt Kinsey, Michelle Grimm, David and Mike Thayer and Terry Bloomfield; great grandchildren, Ross and Rachel Grimm, Brooke, Lauren, Scott, Kyle and Nathan Kinsey, Carter Hyde, Suzanne, Allison, and Kyle Master, Michael, Patrick and Erin Leonard, Jeremy and Elizabeth Gool, clay and Kinsey Nelson, Myra and Ashley Bloomfield and Jina and Jesse Arabelo; several great-great grandchildren; a nephew Ivan DeWitt and nieces and nephews.Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edwin L. Kinsey; three daughters, Greta Jane Kinsey, Lila Jean Masters and Janet Grace Thayer; three sisters, Pearl Medley, Bess Medley and Esther and two brothers, Orval and Bert DeWitt.Family and friends may call on Monday, October 29, 2007 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service celebrating Hazel’s life will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Hugh Berry officiating. Burial will take place in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
