Harvey L. Griffith, 59, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, August 28, 2007 in Mercy Medical Center at Canton, Ohio following a sudden illness.A son of the late Ward and Mary Belle (Wade) Griffith, Harvey was born November 10, 1947 at Cameron, West VirginiaHarvey was a 1968 graduate of Strasburg High School. On March 25, 1972, Harvey married the former Vicki Bassett. He was employed at Meteor Sealing at Dover and he enjoyed spending his free time playing horseshoes.He is survived by his wife, Vicki Griffith; three children, Mari Ann (Rob) Hooper of Kimbolton, Ohio, Holly Lynn Griffith of Uhrichsville, Ohio and Harvey Lenn Griffith Jr. of Malvern; grandchildren, Trevor Jacob Hooper, Gavin Robert Hooper, Bethany Ann Griffith and Roy O. Griffith; sisters, Nila Richardson, Brenda Xenakis, Janet Reynolds, Betty Travis and Doris and two brothers, Mark Griffith and W. Leonard Griffith.Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Rose Schlag, Barb Reynolds and Mary Lou Palorsey and one brother, Lonnie Griffith. Family and friends may call on Friday, August 31, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Harvey’s life will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Rev. Brian Flood officiating.
