Harry C. Aumend

Harry C. Aumend, 78, of Bradenton, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in Aultman Hospital at Canton, Ohio.A son of the late Russell C. and Pearl L. (Bradford) Aumend, Harry was born April 22, 1931.Harry was a veteran of the United States Army enlisting in 1950 and serving during the Korean Conflict.He was a member of the American Legion Post #24 in Bradenton, Florida and also served as the American Legion 8th District Chaplain. Locally, Harry was a member of the Stillwater V.F.W.Harry attended Happy Gospel Church at Bradenton, Florida and was a retired carpenter. After retiring, he enjoyed carpentry until his health no longer permitted him to do so.He is survived by his wife, Judy (Cross) Aumend whom he married December 28, 1991; a daughter, Pam (Randy) Ferguson of Tippecanoe; a son, Randy Aumend of Flushing; two grandchildren, Shawn (Brad) Kellar of Cadiz and Chad (Michelle) Ferguson of Tippecanoe; five great grandchildren, Nohl and Gabbie Kellar and Cole, Seth and Lauren Ferguson; a step son, Steve (Tonya) Cross of Freeport; three step grandchildren, Thomas Doane and Casey and Bailey Cross and a sister, Glenda King of Columbus, Indiana.Harry was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Freda (Gilliam) Aumend; one sister, Margaret and two brothers, Rodney and Bernard.In keeping with Harry’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory. A memorial service celebrating Harry’s life will be held on October 1, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Dennison Four Square Church with Pastor Rod Phillips and Allan Van Fossen officiating.
