Harriette Loretta Cerny, 92, of Dover, and formerly of Parma, OH, died peacefully Monday evening, February 2, 2004, at New Dawn Health Care Center.Born in Cleveland, August 7, 1911, she was a daughter of the late George and Elsie Geitz Rohde.Harriette graduated from high school and briefly worked in an office prior to her marriage to the late Joseph F. Cerny.Together with her husband, she raised a family that includes a daughter, Joan L. (Robert) Kish of Seminole, FL, daughter Kay (Don) Smith of Tippecanoe, OH, son Alan (Pat) Cerny of Port Clinton, OH, son Kenneth (Cindy) Cerny of Anthem, AZ, daughter Deborah Bernard of Homerville, OH, and a son who died in infancy. Eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren complete the family. In addition to her parents, husband, and infant son, four sisters, Myrtle Cerny, Ruth Bobinchek, Evelyn Wellman and Hazel Nicholson; and a brother, Elmer Rhode, preceded Harriette in death. The Rev. Hugh Berry will officiate funeral services for Harriette on Friday, February 6, 2004 at 12 noon in the chapel of The Brooklyn Heights Cemetery, Cleveland, OH. Burial, there, will follow. In gratitude for their exemplary care, the Cerny family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622. Services and arrangements are entrusted to the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory of New Philadelphia.
