Harriet Myers

Harriet M. Myers, age 78, of New Philadelphia, passed away in her home on Monday, April 7, 2025 after a sudden illness.

Harriet was born on October 5, 1946 in Dennison to the late Harold and Naomi (Ferrell) Shultz.

On June 11, 1965, she married the love of her life Lawrence W. Myers in the New Rumley United Methodist Church. Together they enjoyed 36 years of marriage before his passing in 2002.

Harriet worked in sales for many years. She worked at Harts Family Center for over 14 years, then continued her career at Elder-Beerman’s where she managed the jewelry department. However, her greatest joy in life was being a homemaker and caring for her family.

She was also active as the treasurer of the United Methodist Women and sang in the choir at Otterbein United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Happy Hats Club of Tuscarawas County.

Harriet is survived by her sons, Dr. Alan (Heidi) Myers, D.D.S. of New Philadelphia, and Brian Myers of Midvale; grandsons, Eric Myers, and Justin Myers; sister-in-law, Mary (Tom) Baker; brothers-in-law, Ed (Marty)Myers, Jim Myers, and Nelson Heavener; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Myers; and brothers, Jerry Shultz, and Bill Shultz.

The family will greet guests on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Jon Long will lead a memorial service on Saturday, April 12, 2025 beginning at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. An inurnment will follow at East Ave. Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
