Harold “Junior” Horsfall

Harold E. Horsfall, Jr. 77, of New Philadelphia entered the heavenly kingdom surrounded by his family and friends at Schoenbrunn Healthcare on September 18, 2015 following a period of declining health.

Born in New Philadelphia on September 9, 1938, he was the son of the late Harold E. and Mary Dorothy (Kinsey) Horsfall, Sr.

After graduating from Gnadenhutten High School, Junior spent his professional career as a painter with Alsco. Junior also held a membership with the Tuscarawas V.F.W., where he greatly enjoyed playing Jass. Other passions included hunting and fishing, and owning Paradise Lake.

Junior married his lifelong companion and best friend, the former Joan E. Ault on April 12, 1959 who survives. He will also be deeply missed by his sons, Mark Horsfall of New Philadelphia, Steve Horsfall of Uhrichsville, and Kevin Horsfall of New Philadelphia; his grandson, Dylan Horsfall of North Carolina; and two sisters, Sylvia Stein and Barb Walker, both of New Philadelphia.

In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Ruie Horsfall; and his brother-in-law, Ronald Stein.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. A service celebrating Junior’s life will be held in the Fry’s Valley Moravian Church on Tuesday beginning at 11 am with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Fry’s Valley Cemetery.

Friends and family are invited to the church following the committal service where Junior’s church family will host a reception.
