Harold John Haag, Jr., 70, of New Philadelphia, died March 27, 2007, at his residence.A son of the late Harold Sr. and Viola Eagan Haag, Harold was born on October 8, 1936, in Massillon, Ohio. In 1954, Harold graduated from Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio. Upon graduation, Harold entered the U.S. Army and served for four years. He was a proud prosperous business owner and operator of Ohio Heating and Cooling for twenty years until his retirement in 2001. After retirement, Harold was instrumental in the start up business 24 / 7 Concrete and Pre Cast Co. that specialized in RediRock retaining wall blocks. He also was general manager of 416 Sand and Gravel and was directly involved with construction and opening of Dirty Dog Car Wash on East High Ave. in New Philadelphia. He was a life member of the Elks #441. Harold loved to golf, fish, and travel.He is survived by his wife Peggy who he married April 10, 1991, in Las Vegas, Nevada; children, Kathy (Dave) Zimmerman of Canton, Ohio, Karen (Sammy) Tyndall of North Carolina, Kim Ellyson of Massillon, Ohio, Kenny Haag of New Philadelphia, Mike Young of Massillon, Gretchen (Phil) Bray of Austin, Texas, and Heather (Chuck) Howe of Clearwater, Florida; 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; aunt Ruth Williams of Massillon; sisters, Mary Lou (Jim) Weiss of Hermosa Beach, California, Susan (Brent) Burton of Canton, Ohio; mother-in-law, Betty Haverfield of New Philadelphia.In keeping with Harold’s wishes there will be no public services and cremation has been entrusted to the care of the Linn-Hert Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. Third Street, Dover, Ohio 44622.
