Harold E. “Harley” Ray, age 56 of Dover died suddenly, Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Union Hospital at Dover.
A son of the late Paul and Blanche (Korns) Ray, Harley was born in Union Hospital on March 30, 1960.
He was a New Philadelphia High School graduate and worked in the construction industry for many years in both Florida and Ohio.
Harley loved fishing, especially with close friends, spending time with his family, especially his nephews and their families. He also enjoyed restoring and bringing life back into old pieces. Through the years he had grown to have a deep faith in God and loved sharing his story with others and was a member of First Christian Church at New Philadelphia. Harley was a kind and generous man, who would have given the shirt of his back to anyone in need.
He will be deeply missed by his sister, Belinda Reed of Dover; his nephews, Jason (Samantha) Reed of Dover and Ryan (Melissa) Reed of Dundee; his great-nieces and great-nephews, who were his pride and joy and whom he dearly loved.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public services. Cremation care will be conducted by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
Harley was passionate about helping others; his family has requested his generosity be continued by directing memorial contributions in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
