Hallie M. Shott, age 84, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully early Saturday afternoon, April 24, 2010 in Union Hospital, with her family at her side. Born at Uhrichsville, October 7, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Hallie Guthrie Everett. Hallie attended school at New Philadelphia before marrying John A. Shott on September 22, 1946. John passed away just months before their sixtieth wedding anniversary. She’ll be remembered as a talented artist and seamstress. She doted on her grandchildren, enjoyed baking her famous sticky rolls â?? a talent she honed at the former Everett Bakery, operated by her uncle and father. Hallie also delighted playing cards, planting flowers, and perusing yard sales, in search of an addition to her glass basket collection.Survivors include two daughters and two sons, John A. (Dottie) Shott II, of New Philadelphia, Sally A. (James) Wherley of Stonecreek, Albert “Abe” A. (Sharon) Shott and Debra K. (Rodney) Lesjak all of New Philadelphia.Twelve grandchildren, and 22 great and step-great grandchildren also survive. A brother, Larry (Mary) Everett and a sister, Elizabeth (Bill) Waltz, complete the family. In addition to her parents and husband a great-grandchild and a brother, Jack Everett precedes Mrs. Shott in death. Cremation has been conducted through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory. Family and friends will gather for a memorial service Sunday afternoon, May 9, at 4:30 in Grace Community Church at Stonecreek.
