Gregory Morris Tenney, age 62 of Millersburg, went to be with the Lord February 14, 2023 surrounded by family.
Greg was born on October 22, 1960 to Morris and Frances Tenney.
On May 27, 1978, he married the love of his life, Jeanmarie Thompson at the age of 17, and was truly looking forward to having a 45th wedding anniversary celebration. Together, they raised three children and were blessed with six grandchildren.
He enjoyed the outdoors in every way, including groundhog hunting, target shooting and camping with family. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Greg was the definition of a renaissance man with the ability to craft or fix anything. He was a carpenter and was affectionately known by his grandsons as a master gluer. He fancied himself as an amateur Civil War historian.
His greatest pride and joy in life were his grandchildren, Haley Tenney, USAF Airman Haden Tenney, Colston Tenney, Waylon Angle, Cash Angle, and Cason Tenney.
Greg is survived by his devoted wife, Jeanie; and their children, Chad Tenney, girlfriend Heidi, Clint (Holly) Tenney, and Rachelle (Ryan) Angle; brother-in-law, Rick (Gloria) Thompson; sister-in-law, Teresa Tenney; mother, Frances Tenney; special cousins, Mike Yohe and Shelley Immel; numerous nieces and nephews, who he loved dearly; and also, his faithful companion, German Shepherd, Shilow.
He was preceded in death by his father, Morris Tenney; brother, David Tenney; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oren and Doris Thompson; and his grandparents.
Per Greg’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. There will be a celebration of life gathering at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the loving care of the Lifecare Hospice staff, Sarah, Sherry, LeAnn, Lisa, Chad, Ginger and Tracy. They also want to recognize the loving generosity of many friends through a very difficult time.
