Goldie Patricia Zadra, 82, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, April 07, 2007 in her home surrounded by her family. A daughter of the late Lloyd and Margaret (Summers) Collins, Goldie was born August 30, 1924 at Yatesboro, Pennsylvania.At a very young age, Goldie’s family moved to New Philadelphia. She was a 1942 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and during World War II, she worked for Goodyear Aircraft at Uhrichsville and The Timken Roller Bearing Company at Canton.Goldie was also employed by Belmont Stamp & Enameling at New Philadelphia, Miracle Adhesives at New Philadelphia and served as a nurse’s aide at Union Hospital at Dover.She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia where she was active in Senior Citizens, Altar Society and L.C.B.A. Goldie was also a member of the Roswell Senior Citizens, the V.F.W Women’s Auxiliary and the former Navy Mothers Club.Goldie is survived by five daughters, Katherine Zadra of West Salem, Ohio, Anna (William) Taylor of Houston, Texas, Elizabeth Zadra of Tum Tum, Washington, Julia (James) Scharon of Massillon, Ohio and Therese Zadra of Queen Creek, Arizona; three sons, John (Donna) Zadra, James Zadra and Anthony (Susan) Zadra all of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Ann Marie (David) Carver, Jospeh (Jeannette) Zadra, Johnna (Kyle) Winters, Melissa Zadra and Megan Zadra Feltner; seven great-grandchildren; a step-sister Mary Haring of Georgia and one step-brother, William Collins of Florida.In addition to her parents, Goldie was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Zadra, who died in 1991 and one step-brother, Lloyd Collins.Family and friends may call on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia with a Christian wake service being held at 7:45 p.m. Father William Faustner will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
