Gloria Mae Donehue, 84, of Dover, died Sunday, June 26, 2016 in Union Hospital at Dover.
A daughter of the late Clarence and Madeline (Fowler) Rouch, Gloria was born May 16, 1932 in Union Hospital at Dover, Ohio.
Gloria graduated from Dover High School in 1950. In her younger years, she served as a correspondent for the Times Reporter covering Gnadenhutten news before becoming a Real Estate Agent. Gloria also took great pride as a co-owner of the Kuntry Korner Gift store at Sugarcreek for 13 years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia where she enjoyed volunteering with the Chancel Guild. Gloria was a talented artist especially with oil on canvas and watercolors. She enjoyed gardening, arranging flowers and interior decorating. Most of all, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, Charles, throughout the United States, including Alaska, and to South Africa.
She is survived by her husband, Charles F. Donehue whom she married on November 6, 1978; her children, Steve (Theresa) Dittmer of Spring Hill, Pennsylvania, Polly (Brian) Burrell of Dover, Les (Jeanne) Donehue of New Philadelphia, Bill Donehue of Dover and Susan (John) Grubbs of Zanesville; a son-in-law, Joe Ullom of Beavercreek, Ohio; her grandchildren, Brad (Mandy) Dittmer, Doug Dittmer, Meghan and Nicholas Ullom, Hillary (Jason) Green, Carrington Evans, Adam (Jessica) Donehue, Lindsey (Jake) Angler and Sam and Katie Grubbs; 7 great grandchildren; a sister, Carol Schilling of Florida and her beloved dogs, Millie and Max.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Leonard Dittmer; a daughter, Sally Ullom and a brother, Ralph Rouch.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A funeral service celebrating Gloria’s life will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Paul Houdashelt officiating. Burial will follow in Dover Burial Park. Following the committal service, a luncheon will be held in the Hospitality Room in the Geib Funeral Center.
