Gloria A. Plotts, age 85 of Uhrichsville, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 in Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness.
A daughter of the late Louis and Anna (Corredo) Tolloty, Gloria was born at Dennison, Ohio on May 12, 1927.
A graduate of the former Uhrichsville High School, Gloria was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Dennison. For the better part of 50 years, she remained dedicated to her family’s business, Square Deal Auto Parts at Uhrichsville, where she worked as the company’s book keeper.
During her younger years, she greatly enjoyed dancing, bowling and craft work that included painting ceramics and creating floral arrangements. Additionally, she was an avid fan of the game, Scrabble, and a regular attendee of Little Theatre Productions. She was also known for her annual Christmas Eve open house in which she prepared plenty of food for all.
Gloria is survived by her twin sons, Mark (wife, Holly) Plotts of New Philadelphia and Matthew (wife, Pam) Plotts, of Dover; a daughter-in-law, Pam Plotts of Uhrichsville; a brother, Bob Tolloty of New Philadelphia, and a very dear friend, Radonna Moreland of Uhrichsville.
She will be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren, Chad, Jason (wife, Amanda), Jerrod (wife, Ashlee), Stephanie, Steve, Alan, Cory, and Nikki and her three great-grandchildren, Mayne, Isabella, and Wessly as well as numerous nieces and nephews who complete the family.
In addition to her parents, Gloria is preceded in death by a son, Michael Plotts; and a brother, Gene Tolloty.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM in the chapel of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory where Pastor Larry Fletcher will lead a service celebrating Gloria’s life at 4:00 PM. Following the service, all are invited to share in a meal and fellowship in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia. Private inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
The family wishes to express great gratitude toward Union Hospital and the ICU Staff for their exemplary care and compassion.
