Gloren A. Horrisberger

Gloren A. Horrisberger, 105, formerly of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, in New Dawn Retirement Community at Dover, Ohio, where she was a resident for seven years.A daughter of the late John and Hulda Sulzener Schuepbach, Gloren was born on March 19, 1902, in Dover Township. In 1921, Gloren graduated from New Philadelphia High School and continued her education at Kent State University. She taught school for forty-one years in Roswell and New Philadelphia until her retirement in 1962. Gloren was a member of the Ohio and Tuscarawas County Chapters of Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of the First United Church of Christ.In addition to her parents, Gloren was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce A. Horrisberger, whom she married July 9, 1943, in Kansas City, Nebraska; three sisters, two brothers; and niece, Jeanne Bolles.She is survived by, nieces, Shirley Scott of Medina, Ohio, and Wanda Ellwood of Dover; and several great nieces and great nephews.Friends are invited to call Saturday, May 5, 2007, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the Linn-Hert Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.Pastors Jeffrey Gerber and Jill Lovett will lead the funeral service on Saturday, May 5, 2007, 11:00 a.m. in the Linn-Hert Geib Chapel.
