Glenn W. Spring, age 87, of Old Town Valley, New Philadelphia, died Friday, February 05, 2016, while in the care of Community Hospice House following a period of declining health.
A son of the late John Christopher and Mayme Eichel Spring, Glenn was born at York Township on February 25, 1928.
He was employed by Bezzozi Trucking and retired from the former Invincible Airflow Systems at Dover. He was a member of the former New Philadelphia Moose and Eagles Lodges as well as the New Philadelphia VFW Post #1445.
Glenn enjoyed spending time with friends and family camping and fishing along the river at Marietta.
He will be missed by his wife of 65 years the former Dorothy Smith, whom he married on August 12, 1950; their daughter, Sue (George) Manglallan; their grandchildren, Christopher and Katelyn Manglallan all of San Diego, California and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean Spring and William Spring.
The family will greet guest on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 9-11 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Rev. Hugh B. Berry will lead a service celebrating Glenn’s life beginning at 11 AM. Burial in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia will follow. All are invited to a meal and fellowship in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the New Philadelphia Funeral Home following services.
