Glenn A. Dreher

August 14, 1923 — December 18, 2003

Glenn A. Dreher, 80, died in his sleep at his Dennison home on Thursday, December 18, 2003. Glenn was born in Strasburg on August 14, 1923, the only child to the late Walter and Lena Reiger Dreher and was a graduate of Strasburg High School. In 1943 he entered the U. S. Army Infantry. He received the Purple Heart commendation medal for injuries sustained in Germany. Glenn was then discharged in 1946.In 1948 he married the former Gloria J. Charles. The couple shared 37 years together before her death on June 29, 1985. By profession, Glenn worked as a bricklayer for Gundy Construction for forty years, and was a member of Bricklayers Union #6 in Canton. He retired from Charles Rewinding after 10 years of service. Glenn was a member of the 78th Division Veterans’ Association and formerly belonged to the Bolivar Sportsmen’s Club as well as B. P. O. E. No. 510 in New Philadelphia.He is survived by daughter, Ann Fraser; son, Tom Dreher; grandsons Alex and Michael Dreher, all of Dennison; and granddaughter, Julie Dreher, of Fairfield, OH.There will be no visitation or funeral service. Following cremation at Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory, Glenn will be buried with Gloria.Please, instead of flowers, contributions in honor of Glenn may be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. Third St., Dover, OH 44622 have been encouraged.
