Glenda Green

Glenda G. Green, 80, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Divine Healthcare in New Philadelphia.

Born on May 6, 1944, in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Ervin Oscar and Gertrude M. (Zedi) Geib.

During her time at New Philadelphia High School, Glenda met Larry Green, and three years after graduating, they were married on May 2, 1965. Together, Glenda and Larry shared a wonderful life, not only as spouses but as best friends. They enjoyed traveling together on Larry’s motorcycle, hunting, fishing, and relaxing on their front porch swing, welcoming friends and family who stopped by to visit.

Glenda’s faith was an important part of her life, and she was actively involved at the First United Methodist Church, where she volunteered at luncheons and helped with the Clothes Closet.

Professionally, Glenda worked at the former Joy Manufacturing and Cronebaugh Insurance before retiring from New Philadelphia Buehler’s, where she was employed in the deli department.

Glenda is deeply loved and will be missed by her husband, Larry; their children, Michele Green (fiancé, Pat McPeek) of New Philadelphia and Larry (Cathy) Green Jr. of Stone Creek; her siblings, Elsie Dummermuth of New Philadelphia, Margaret Stein of Columbus, and Glenn (Patricia) Geib of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Dallas (Jennifer) and Samantha DeMattio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by her sisters, Connie Kaser and Delores Farnsworth; her brothers-in-law, Larry Stein, Homer Dummermuth Jr., Donald Farnsworth, and Dennis Kaser; as well as her nephews, Donny Farnsworth, David Dummermuth, and Michael Farnsworth.

A visitation will be held at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. Rev. Ryan Cockrill will officiate the service. A private burial will take place at Stone Creek Cemetery.
