Glen D. Lorenz

Glen D. Lorenz, 38, of 849 Geneva St., Sugarcreek, died Wednesday, January 29, 2003 in Aultman Hospital Emergency Dept. after an apparent heart attack suffered while attending class at Kent State University Stark Campus.Born June 14, 1964 in Dover he was a son of Leroy and Mary Ellen Knerr Lorenz of Baltic.Glen owned and operated The Pizza Parlor in Sugarcreek since 1989. He was an assistant basketball coach at Garaway High School and was a member of the Sugarcreek Volunteer Fire Department where he served as fire inspector. He was a 1982 graduate of Garaway High School.In addition to his parents he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ben (Darlene) Banks of Waukesha, Wisconsin; two brothers, Donald (Mary Lou) Lorenz of Sugarcreek and Gary Lorenz of Akron; two nieces, Jennifer (Neil) Deam of Sugarcreek and Jill (Jeromy) Starner of Sugarcreek; two nephews, Robert (Lauren) Banks of Wisconsin and Richard (Dana) Banks of Michigan; three great-nieces and one great-nephew; three aunts and four uncles.Two uncles are deceased.Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the Valley View Community Church at Sugarcreek. Revs. Arlen Longanecker and Chuck Jarvis will officiate and burial will follow Union Hill Cemetery at Sugarcreek. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The Tuscarawas County Firefighters memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Garaway Booster Club or the Sugarcreek Volunteer Fire Department. Smith-Geib Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling arrangements.
