Gladys W. (Parsons) Thoburn, 74, of Strasburg went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 18, 2005 at her sister’s (Connie and Betty’s) where she was lovingly taken care of and surrounded by family.Born in Rock Castle, WV. On November 3, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Fred Mathes Parsons and Deby (Ray Parsons) Collar. Gladys worked for 47 years at various jobs in the area, mostly in food service with 18 years at the Junction Truck Stop. She retired from Dairy Mart at Strasburg in 1993.Gladys enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, collecting dolls and butterflies and scrapbooking newspaper articles.She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ruby Lyles and Nada Parsons; two brothers, Larry A. and William E. Parsons; a son Kenneth L. (Kenny) Csonka; and a great grandchild, Debra Claire.Gladys is survived by three sons, Estel (Marlene) Rothacher, of Dundee, Mark (Rita) Rothacher, of Strasburg, and Byron (Becky) Thoburn, of St. Petersburg, Fl.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Alan (Donna Csonka) Hattery, of Brewster; six grandchildren, Nicole and Tricia Rothacher of Dundee, Stacy and Jennifer Csonka and Bryan Honaker of Brewster, and Tiffany Rothacher, of Canton; six great-grandchildren, Kaycee, Andon Jewell, Kristen, Theresa, Tiara and Marissa; two brothers, Ralph (Ruth) Parsons of Thatcher, Az, Ola (Tizzie) Parsons of New Philadelphia; four sisters, Betty (Raymond) Rothacher and Connie Butler of Dover, Faye (Eugene) Breehl and Shelby (Ilem) Weaver of New Philadelphia.In keeping with Glady’s wishes cremation will take place at the Geib Funeral Center in Dover where a memorial service will be held Friday, April 22, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for all family and friends that wish to attend.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas, 201 West Third St., Dover, OH 44622.
