Gladys Hope Kimble, age 93, of Hennis Care Centre at Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, died peacefully Wednesday morning, April 5, 2006. Born at Elson, England on the thirteenth of January, 1913, Gladys was the only daughter of the late Hubert Charles Francis Sr. and his wife Ada Sherwood Francis. Gladys and her family immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island when she was six years old. At the age of 29, Gladys became a naturalized citizen of the United States of America � a point of pride she has cherished ever since. Prior to her marriage to Oscar Kimble in February, 1955, she was employed by East Sparta Ceramic. Her hobbies included reading, cooking, spending time with her friends and family, and traveling extensively. She was loved much by the family who survives, including her sons John (Dawn) Miller of Brooksville, Florida, Gerald (Shirley) Kimble of Dover, and daughter, Carol (Glenn) Medley of Denver, Colorado; eight grandchildren, John (Kim) Miller of Canton, Ohio, Cinda (John) Pixler of New Philadelphia, Lorie Kimble of Dover, Debbie (Jay) Diegmiller of New Philadelphia, Jerry (Linda) Kimble of Caldwell, Ohio, Karen (Greg) Jarvis of Dover, Michelle (Mike) Greenly of Denver, Colorado, Michael Medley of Denver, Colorado; twenty-four great-grandchildren, Shannon Wolfe, Shawn, Scott and Brittany Miller, Specialist Todd Parsons, Stacy Harbold, Lisa Pulley, Kylie, Jennifer, and Joshua Kimble and his fiancé Abby Lawver, J. Michael, Ashley, and Jessica Diegmiller, Jeremy Lindsay, Brittany and Raven Kimble, Katie, Jace and Matthew Jarvis, Jeremy Medley, Todd and Taylor Greenly, and Alec Medley. Eight great-great grandchildren Matthew, Zachary and Hayden Miller, Lilly Wolfe, Taylor Smith, Breauna, Shayla, Anthony Harbold, and a dear and close friend, Millie Williams of Dundee, completes the family. In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Kimble, on Feb. 28, 1989 as well as her brothers Hubert and Roy Francis and two great-great-granddaughters. Friends are invited to call Sunday, April 9, from 3PM to 5 PM in the Community of Christ Church (formerly RLDS) where Elders Rebecca Lawrence and Sarah Chadwell will lead a ceremony celebrating the life of Mrs. Kimble beginning at 5 PM. Inurnment will be held at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at a later date. Cremation will be conducted through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
