Gertrude Inez “Anne” Donohue, age 90, of Walnut Creek, and formerly of Sugar Grove, died peacefully Friday afternoon, January 20, 2006. Born April 6, 1915 at Owensboro, Kentucky, Annewas a daughter of the late Richard Thomas and Mary A. Cheshire Tweddell. Reared at upstate New York, Anne joined the United States Army during World War II, and was discharged at the rank of Sergeant in 1946 having rendered faithful service as a medical dietician. While in the Army, she met and married Howard William Donohue Sr. on November 22, 1945. The couple observed their sixtieth wedding anniversary last autumn. The two farmed together for more than five decades at Sugar Grove, near Toronto, Ohio. Anne was a longtime member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church. Survivors, in addition to her husband include her son; Howard (JoAnn) Donohue Jr. of Dublin, Ohio, two daughters; Elizabeth Ann (Donald) Harrison of West Lafayette, Ohio, and Marion Lee (David) Norris of Columbus, Ohio, three granddaughters; Jean Ann Harrison (Alva) Bowman of Olathe, Kansas, Molly Anne Norris of Chicago, Illinois, Megan Anne Donohue of Columbus, three grandsons; Scott Allan (Amanda) Norris of Columbia, Missouri, Byron William Harrison of Chicago, Illinois, and Mark William Donohue of Lexington, Virginia. One great-grandson, Alva William Bowman of Olathe, Kansas completes the family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Donohue was preceded in death by two sisters; Mary Reisz, and Blanche Moore, and seven brothers; John, Henry, Ernest, Joseph, X.E., Charles, and Paul. Private family services will be held Monday evening. Cremation will follow through the care of Geib Funeral Services at Dover, with inurnment at Sugar Grove Union Cemetery. There are no public calling hours. Memorial contributions, instead of flowers, may be made to the Audubon Society, 700 Broadway, New York, NY, 10003.
