Geraldine Lee Byers

Geraldine “Gerry” Lee Byers, 80, of Park Village Health Care at Dover, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014 following a lengthy illness.

A daughter of the late Ervin and Mary (Madden) Goss, Gerry was born July 22, 1933 at Dover, Ohio.

Gerry enjoyed playing Bingo. Also, while her health permitted, she enjoyed visiting the Senior Center and New Towne Mall.

She is survived by her children, Elaine Arnold and Brenda Rings both of Strasburg, Paul (Debbie) Arnold of Tuscarawas and Helen (Russ) Moore of New Philadelphia; eight grandsons, three granddaughters; 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William D. Arnold; her second husband, William E. Byers; four brothers and four sisters.

A memorial service celebrating Gerry’s life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia with Rev. Hugh Berry officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Inurnment will be held in Dover Burial Park at a later date.
