Gerald H. Stout, age 72 of Newcomerstown, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2006 in Aultman Hospital at Canton following a brief illness. Gerald was born December 7, 1933 at Palestine, West Virginia Â? just a few miles from the home of his childhood sweetheart and future wife of 53 years, Helen Husk. The couple wed June 29, 1953. A retired oil rigger and self employed businessman, Gerald enjoyed many things in his life. His favorite though, was coon hunting with his children and grandchildren. Even though he is in heaven, Gerald will remain in the hearts of all his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all he touched. To his family, Gerald will always be the greatest man that God put on earth. Together with his loving wife, Gerald reared a family that includes five sons, Gerald E. (wife Katie) Stout of Newcomerstown, Roger (wife Vonda) Stout of East Sparta, Donald (wife Margaret) Stout of Midvale, George Sr.(wife Lisa) Stout of New Philadelphia; three daughters, Wilma (husband Dennis) Moody of Newcomerstown, Brenda (husband Thomas Jr.) Sutton of Carrollton, and Wanda (husband Paul) Stull of Uhrichsville. Thirty-four grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Stout of Carrollton and Cecil (wife Barbara) Stout of Alliance, and many nieces and nephews complete the family. In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Wesley Stout; a grandson, Donald R. Stout Jr,; brothers Elmer and Ray Stout, and a sister Mary Horton. Friends are invited to call Wednesday, August 23 from 2-4 and from 6-8 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Ken Morrison will lead funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Stout Thursday afternoon at 2 PM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at Canton.
