George S. Dolvin

April 18, 1930 — May 31, 2003

George Sherman Dolvin, 73, of Mineral City, died in his home Thursday, May 29, 2003. Born April 18, 1930, George was a son of the late Paul Dolvin and Eva McDougal Dolvin.After excelling in school, Mr. Dolvin joined the U.S. Marines and served our country in the Korean War as a tank operator. On May 10, 1955 he married the former Helen Stover, who he leaves behind after 48 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael and his wife Leigh Biclawski, grandchildren Michelle Bearinger, Michael Biclawski and Barbie Sue Rhmay; great-grandchildren Michael Thomas, Michael Joseph, Alexis, Marissa, Jessica and T.J. (Timothy); two sisters, Janice Materna and Darlene Ake, and two brothers, Dick and Larry Dolvin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Michael Biclawski.Friends may call Sunday, June 1, 2003 from 2 to 5 at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home, New Philadelphia. Rev. Norman J. Stover will officiate a funeral service Monday, June 2, 2003 at 11 AM in funeral home’s chapel. Burial will be at the Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
