George Franklin Howell

GEORGE F. HOWELL, 55, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 8, 2003. George was born October 27, 1947 in Dennison to Karl E. and Gertrude B. Ohler Howell. In 1965 he graduated from Midvale High School. George retired as a precision grinder after 31 years service with The Timken Company in New Philadelphia. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his dogs, “Jake” and “Jess.” He also liked woodworking and, since retirement, he enjoyed vegetable gardening. George found comfort in listening to and playing music. He is survived by daughter, Terri and husband Shawn Dudziak of New Philadelphia and son, Heath Howell, also of New Philadelphia; mother, Gertrude Howell of Barnhill; sister, Dru and husband Bill Bichsel of New Philadelphia and brother, Rick and wife Peg Howell of Barnhill; two nieces, Darcie and Emily Bichsel and a nephew, Josh Bichsel. His father and grandparents preceded George in death. Memorial visitation will be at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia Thursday, March 13, 2003 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with the memorial service following at 7:00 PM. Pastor Fred J. Battles of the New Life Center in Barnhill will officiate.
