George E. Lippencott Sr., 72, of Gnadenhutten, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Community Hospice House of Tuscarawas County following a period of declining health.
Born in Dennison on June 15, 1943, he was the son of Myrtle Evelyn (Patterson) Lippencott and the late Emmett Lippencott. On September 12, 1959 George married the love of his life, Betty Garabrandt, and they have shared nearly 56 wonderful years together.
George worked in many hard labor positions in timber, steel and oil fields. In his free time he enjoyed catfishing and watching various sports, especially the races. He never went anywhere without his dog and sidekick, Fluffy. George and Betty liked to spend time together having fun at the casino. Family was very important to him, and he was very devoted to his loving mother.
He will be deeply missed by Betty and his mother; his children, Michael Lippencott of Gnadenhutten, George Lippencott Jr. of Gnadenhutten, Tammy Page of Gnadenhutten, Sheryl Walker of Uhrichsville, and Bevra (Dean) Cantrell of Newcomerstown; his sister, Glenda Crabtree of Deersville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his father; his three brothers, Wilbert, Michael and Jerry Lippencott; his sister, Dolly Fowler; his great-grandchild, Angel Lippencott; and his infant granddaughter.
In keeping with George’s wishes cremation will be cared for through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory in Dover.
