Gay Lynn Contini

Gay Lynn Contini, 57, of New Philadelphia passed away October 7, 2015 in the Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia surrounded by her family following a short battle with cancer.

Born in Dover on June 21, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Max and Erma Jean (Meuhlen) Korns. After completing her formal education she joined the work force, most recently as an employee with Sterlite in Massillon.

A strong, independent person who dearly loved her family best describes Gay Lynn. She surrounded herself with music, her family, and greatly enjoyed dancing. Gay Lynn was an active member of the Dover Moose and the New Philadelphia VFW Post #1445.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Kendra (David) Striker of Tuscarawas and Kristin (Kenny) Bethel of Wainwright; her companion, John Fischio of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Ariana Bethel, David Striker V, Emma Striker, Paxton Striker, and Bryer Bethel; her siblings, Roxann (Ron) Webb and Barb (Dan) Malloy; her nieces and nephews, Dawn Webb, Isac Webb, Angie Foerch, and Carrie Haney; in addition to other family members including, Jennifer Lenhart, Jody Jenkins, Holly Sommers, Corey Estlund, Nathaniel Estlund, Ryan Sommers, and Kylynn Sommers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Jeremy Malloy; and family friends, Kristin Brown and Dylan Sommers.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
