Gary R. Lautzenheiser

Gary R. Lautzenheiser, age 79, of the Oldtown Valley, New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, September 20, 2012, in Aultman Hospital at Canton.
Born February 20, 1933, at Dover, he was the only child born to the late Frederick Warren and Glenda Everhart Lautzenheiser.
A 1951 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, Gary married the former Donna Holcomb on April 9, 1952. The couple observed their sixtieth wedding anniversary earlier this year.
Gary will be remembered as a hard worker who kept busy operating the Lautzenheiser Dairy Farm in the Oldtown Valley, and spent thirty years working for the former Warner & Swasey between 1965 and 1995.
In his spare time he enjoyed collecting Lionel Trains and restoring his antique farm tractors. He attended St. Peter’s Oldtown Valley Lutheran Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Donna of the home, include his son Danny (wife, Lorrie) Lautzenheiser, daughter Diane (husband, Ron) Spade, and son Eric (wife, Cheryl) Lautzenheiser, all of New Philadelphia.
Seven grandchildren, Joshua and Alyssa Lautzenheiser of New Philadelphia, Matthew Spade of Washington, D.C., Mark Spade of New Philadelphia, and Elijah, Micayla and Drew Lautzenheiser, all of New Philadelphia complete the family.
Friends are invited to call Monday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where Pastors Jason Caddy and Hugh Berry will lead Mr. Lautzenheiser’s funeral service at 10:30 Monday morning. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
