Gary P. Campbell

Gary P. “Soup” Campbell Sr., 60, of Scio, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at Union Hospital in Dover following a brief illness.Born in Stark County, he was the son of the late Ned and Anne Markowski Campbell. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was employed by the Gradall Company in New Philadelphia. An avid sportsman, he loved camping, hunting, fishing and trapping.Surviving is his wife, the former Maycle M. Brooks, who he married September 8, 1962; four daughters, Christine (Brian) Schoen of Sycamore, PA, Doreena Wines, Brenda Campbell and Ruthie Campbell all of Lakeville, Ohio; a son, Gary P. Campbell Jr. of Canton, two sisters, Jane Barnhart of Orrville and Linnie Lawrence of Massillon; two brothers, Frank Campbell and Ned Campbell both of Massillon; two granddaughters, nine grandsons and an adopted son and daughter, James Lawrence and Theresa Wines.Funeral services will be held Friday, March 22, 2002 at 2:00 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home with Ronald F. Fry officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 1to 2 PM in the funeral home. In keeping with his wishes, his body is to be cremated and burial will be at a later date.Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
