Gary L. Myers

Gary L. Myers, 85, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully at New Dawn Healthcare Center in Dover on January 25, 2025, with his family by his side.

Born on August 16, 1939, in Wolf, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles Lawrence and Florence M. (Hill) Myers. After graduating from Newcomerstown High School in 1957, Gary proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

He spent 46 years working as a tool and die maker at the former Heller Tool & Die Company before retiring.

On June 28, 1964, Gary married Randy Sue Postel, and together they were blessed with two sons, Brian and Chad. Gary enjoyed sharing his interests with family and friends, whether through car shows, bowling, or cheering on the Cleveland Indians.

Above all, Gary’s faith and family were the most important aspects of his life. He nurtured his faith at First Baptist Church in New Philadelphia, and his greatest wish was for his family to walk by faith. Gary was also a passionate supporter of his grandchildren in their activities.

In addition to his wife, Sue, Gary will be greatly missed by his sons, Brian (Tera) Myers and Chad Myers; grandchildren, Sophie, Kyle, and Lucas; sisters-in-law, Marene Myers and Rebecca Beiter; brother-in-law, Mike Postel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jerry Myers, Donna (Gary) Boldman, Nancy Myers, and Joyce Myers; and brother-in-law, James Postel.

Visitation will be held Thursday at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pastor Todd Gopp will officiate the public graveside service at 1:00 p.m. in West Lawn Cemetery at Newcomerstown, with military honors rendered by the Newcomerstown Honor Guard.
