Gary L. Price, 73, of New Philadelphia went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 30, 2015 in the Community Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born July 25, 1941, in New Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Roland Price and Emma Jean (Mathias) Monte.
The former Janet L. Haugh caught his attention in high school, and on June 12, 1965, they were married. Together, they were blessed with nearly 50 years of marriage.
Gary worked as an auto detailer for Parkway Nissan Lincoln Mercury in Dover for numerous years prior to his retirement. His hobbies were numerous. He greatly enjoyed fishing, gardening, and working in his yard. Gary was also an animal lover, especially his dog, Sweetie. Most importantly, he loved his family and his Lord. His faith was nurtured at the Tabor Ridge Community Church throughout his lifetime.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Janet, of New Philadelphia; his children, Holly (Buzz) Day of New Philadelphia, Sharon (Eric) Reiser of Mineral City, and Jody Price of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Jonathan and Joshua Day, and Miranda and Jolissa Price, all of New Philadelphia; his great-grandchild, Dallas Ewing of New Philadelphia; his sister Scharlene (Henry) Monte of Minerva; his brothers-in-law, David (Colleen) Haugh of Cleveland and Dale Haugh of Uhrichsville; his mother-in-law, Betty West of Dover; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Johnny Monte; and his brother, Bob Price.
Cremation will be cared for through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory in Dover. Friends and family are invited to a reception on Sunday, June 7, 2015 in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia between 2 and 4 p.m. to share stories and be in fellowship.
