Gary L. Boston, 62, of New Philadelphia died Sunday morning, July 10, 2005 at his home following a courageous 6-year battle with cancer.Born June 20, 1943 in Bellaire, Ohio, he was the son of Geneva and the late William T. Boston.After graduating from Bellaire High School, Gary served his country in the United States Marie Corp. Later, he went to work for Republic Engineered Steel, retiring from the company in 1999 after 30 years of service to the company. After retirement, he enjoyed working at the YMCA Camp Tippecanoe for the past 4 years. Other hobbies Gary enjoyed were fishing, camping, bowling, and being with loved ones. He was also a loyal Browns fan.Gary will be greatly missed by his family, including his wife of nearly 40 years, Joanne (White) Boston; four daughters, Melissa (Jeff) Smith of Hartville, Sue Boston of Montville, Sherry (Anthony) Dichiara of Canton, and Mandy (Bryant) West of Canton; 8 grandchildren, Matthew and Melanie Smith, Cameo and Carmela Dichiara, Desmond Dansby, Rayshawn, Kellan and Cordae West; his mother, Geneva Boston; two brothers, Tom and Bubby Boston; a sister Joyce; his father-in-law, Harold “Tex” White; two brothers-in-law, Butch (Norma) White and Warren White; a sister-in-law, Sheila (Butch) Smith; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.In addition to his father, Gary was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Betty J. White.A Memorial Service celebrating Gary’s life will be held Saturday, July 16, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Living God, 1440 5th St. N.W., New Philadelphia with Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating. After the service, the family invites everyone to the church fellowship hall where a reception will be held.The family requests that memorial contributions honoring Gary’s life be made to YMCA Camp Tippecanoe, 81300 YMCA Rd., Tippecanoe, OH 44699.
