Gary J. Crites

Gary J. Crites, 59, of New Philadelphia passed unexpectedly in his home on February 19, 2021.

Born in Dennison on August 12, 1961, he was the son of Judith K. (Carpenter) Crites and Edward Earl Crites.

After graduating from Claymont High School, Gary was the owner and operator of Freedom Mobile Homes Transport. He was also a skilled mechanic and autobody technician before retirement. He loved evening cruises in his Cadillacs and on his Harley, with no destination in mind. Most importantly, adored his grandchildren.

He loved to fish and camp with his family and had wonderful family cook-outs. Gary also loved to listen to his brother’s live band perform.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly L. Crites; his children, Cody (Lindsay) Crites, Cassie (companion, Matthew Whitman) Crites, and Colt Crites; grandchildren, Gage, Gracie, Gabbie, Kaedin, Jillian, Neco, Garrett, Braelyn, Ryker, Bethany, and Hades; siblings, Joseph (companion, Betsy) Crites and William (companion, Amy) Crites; his sister-in-law, Terri; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Gary was preceded in passing by his brother, Ronald “Dude” Crites.

Private services will be held and cremation will be cared for by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.
