Gary D. Grimm, 90, of Stone Creek, passed away peacefully at The Inn at Northwood Village in Dover on November 18, 2024.
Born in the family home in Stone Creek on January 28, 1934, he was the son of the late Harry and Verna (Schwartz) Grimm.
Gary worked in the oil fields for more than 25 years after completing his formal education and service in the United States Army. His faith was nurtured at the Jerusalem Church where he was a member with his wife, Janet S. (Savage) Grimm.
During almost 63 years of marriage Gary and Janet enjoyed retirement travels which included winters away in Arizona with the family dog Eddie and bus trips with friends. Gary enjoyed tinkering with his tractors and cars. He could be found mowing somewhere on the property almost daily.
Gary’s family includes his wife, Janet of Stone Creek; his children, Diane (Peter) Evans of Stone Creek, Denise Grimm of Canton and Richard (Holly) Grimm of Stone Creek.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in passing by his daughter, Debra Grimm; sister, Rhea Schoonover; and his sister, Nita Masshart.
To honor Gary’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a private service in Jerusalem Church Cemetery at a later date where the New Philadelphia VFW #1445 will render military honors.
Gary’s family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to both The Inn at Northwood Village and Crossroads Hospice for their excellent care of Gary.
