Gary Dean Zedell

Gary D. Zedell, 62, of Dover and formerly of Canton, passed away in the Cleveland Clinic on July 20, 2015 following a lengthy illness.

Born in Phoenix, Arizona on August 31, 1952, he was the son of the late John Joseph and Alice Marie (Jewell) Zedell. After completing his education at Timken and McKinley High Schools, he began his professional career in the plastic industry.

He began his career alongside his late father-in-law, Donald McInnes, at M & R Plastics in East Canton. He then continued employment in the field at Van-Kay, Century, and Rubbermaid, before owning and operating his own company, American Plastics.

Gary married his lifelong friend and companion, the former Caroline C. McInnes on March 2, 1974. Together they were blessed with two children, Scott and Angela.

Gary enjoyed playing on several bowling and golf leagues. He also enjoyed Blues music.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Caroline Zedell of Dover; his children, Scott (Eileen) Zedell of West Virginia and Angela (Jessi) Miller of Dover and formerly of Canton; his grandchildren, Gary Lee, Zachary, Andrew, and Alexis Zedell and Ethan Miller and one expected grandchild early next year; his sisters, Barbara (Carl) Bittner and Patricia D’Onofrio; his mother-in-law, Arlene R. McInnes of Dover; and his sister-in-law, Cindy (Jerry) Coulter.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael and John.

No public visitation or services are planned. Cremation will be cared for through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.
