Gary D. Musick, age 61, of Barnhill was welcomed into his new home with Jesus on Sunday morning November 14, 2010 in Union Hospital at Dover, following a lengthy battle with chronic illness.A son of the late Willard E. “Banjo” and Virginia “Susie” Gill Musick, Gary was born in Union Hospital at Dover on March 14, 1949.Gary worked the majority of his life in the heating and cooling industry and was the proud founder of Musick and Myers Heating and Cooling. When he thought it was best, he turned the daily operations of the firm over to Ron Myers, whom he thought of as a son.Gary loved working hard, laughing often and was known for his constant practical jokes. He was a proud follower of Jesus Christ and loved to show his faith by loving others and doing good deeds. While he spent the majority of his life working with his hands, it will be his heart and the love it contained for others which will be greatly missed.Gary’s pride and joy was his family which includes his wife of 42 years, his best friend and soul mate, the former Brenda Shear, their two children, Shawanna (Bob) Schneider and Rob (Lindsey) Musick; and four grandchildren, Felicia Myers, Kaitlin Myers, Moriah and Lottie Musick.Two sisters, Darlene (Jack) Ren, Roseanne (Charles) Pressley, and a brother, Mike (fiancée Helen) Musick also survive.In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shannon, his beloved mother-in-law, Lola Shear, two brothers, Jim Cole and Willard “Buddy” Musick; and four sisters, Kack Duffield, Marlene Colletti, Geraldine Keasler, and Charlene Nealey.In keeping with Gary’s wishes cremation care will take place through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover. An open house celebration of both Gary’s and Buddy’s lives will be held in the Midvale Community Center on Saturday, November 20, 2010, beginning at 6PM.Those wishing to do so may send the family personal condolences by signing the online guest registry located on the funeral home’s website.The family requests that memorial contributions in Gary’s name be directed to Community Hospice, 201 W Third Street, Dover, Ohio 44622.
