Gail Uptegraph

Gail Lynn Uptegraph, 73, of Midvale, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023 in Cleveland Clinic-Union Hospital at Dover.

Born in Alliance, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and DeLoris G. (Schreckengost) White and was a 1968 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. Gail worked as a cook for a number of restaurants that include, the former L&K at New Philadelphia, Denny’s at New Philadelphia and Bob Evans Restaurants located at New Philadelphia, Dover, Strongsville and Salisbury, Maryland.

In her spare time, Gail was an avid reader. She was a member of the book club at the Tuscarawas County Library and loved gardening, tending to her flowers, and playing word games.

Gail is survived by her sister, Karen K. Rose of Midvale; her two brothers, Jerry (Brenda) White of Dover and Dale Hart of New Philadelphia; two nieces, Angela (David) Moxon of Pennsylvania and Daniella (Travus) Houghton of Newcomerstown; and three great nieces, Sheyienna Hupp, Shenoah Wallace and Hypatia Houghten.

In addition to her biological parents, her adoptive parents, Sam and Valeta Uptegraph, also preceded her in death.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation care will be provided by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and a private burial will take place in Alliance at a later date.
