Frederick M. Walton, 75, New Philadelphia, died Friday, June 25, 2004, at Union Hospital in Dover.Born August 15, 1928, in Goshen, he was a son of the now late Henry F. and Gertrude Kohler Walton.He was a 1946 graduate of the former Tuscarawas-Warwick High School where he had been active in a variety of sports. Following graduation, he attended Wittenberg University.In l992, he retired from his position as plant manager at Pfizer Industries, where, during his 30 years of service, he had a record of perfect attendance. An avid fan of both the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians, Fred was a member of the Cy Young Class A Baseball League Hall of Fame. He was also a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.He is survived by his wife, the former Erma Hilliard, whom he married on Christmas day in l948; one daughter, Debra (Larry) Humbert of New Philadelphia; two sons, Fred (Laurie) Walton of Wadsworth and Michael (Deb) Walton of Tallmadge; two sisters, Thelma (Howard) McPeek of Dennison and Joyce Keffer of Wainwright; one brother, Curtis Walton, of New Philadelphia; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Betty Hilliard; five grandchildren, Tara and Timberly Humbert and Hayley, Brent, and Natalie Walton; and many loving nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Russell and Henry.Visitation will be at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday evening, June 27, 2004, from 5 Â? 8 pm (with church council services at 4:45 pm) and on Monday, June 28, from 12:30 Â? 1:30 pm. Services will be conducted by Rev. Michael Walters on Monday at 1:30 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Sharon Moravian Church Cemetery in Tuscarawas.
